DEPOSIT
All orders (except rush orders) require a 30% non-refundable deposit is due to hold your order date. For wedding cake orders, 50% non-refundable deposit is required. Rush orders are required to be paid in full. Orders are not booked until the deposit has been paid.
PAYMENTS / DUE DATES
For rush orders, full payment is required to confirm the order.
For regular customized orders, the remainder of the payment due must be paid in full three days before the pick-up date. The date of your deposit is the final date for any changes of size, style, flavour(s) of the cake.
For wedding cake orders, the remainder of the payment is due one month before the event. The date of your final payment is the final date for any changes of size, style or flavour(s) of the cake.
Orders not paid by the due date will be considered cancelled and any amount paid will be forfeited.
CANCELLATION
If you need to cancel an order, your request must be received in writing within 15 days of your booked date for customized orders and within 30 days of your booked date for wedding orders to be considered for a refund.
Please be courteous when cancelling your order and give as much time in advance as possible. The number of orders taken is limited for each date; cancelling within this window allows us to rebook your date.

REFUNDS
All deposits are non-refundable and are not eligible for refunds, even if the order is cancelled within the cancellation window.
Orders cancelled prior to the cancellation cut off date may be eligible for a refund, minus the cost of any of the following items already purchased for your order: special order items, specialty ingredients or materials.
Orders cancelled after the cancellation window may not be eligible for any refund and will be considered on a case by case basis.
DELIVERY AND SET UP
Delivery and set up is dependent upon destination. Delivery fees may apply.
We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after the set-up is complete. You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s). Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature 22-23 degrees Celsius or below.
LIABILITY RELEASE
If you or your representative elects to pick-up and set-up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves our possession. Cake is fragile, and we are not responsible for any damage that may occur once the cake has left the bake site.
We take every measure to supply you with a stable product but cannot guarantee structural integrity during transport.
Please always handle your cake with great care: transport and display on flat, well supported surfaces only and do not leave in temperatures above 22-23 degrees Celsius for extended periods of time.
Refunds due to negligence will not be issued.
Performance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Joy’s Cakes and Sweets to complete the agreement and is subject to labour disputes or strikes, accidents, Acts of God, and other causes beyond our control.
It is your responsibility to order the proper number of servings appropriate for your event. Servings are an estimate and will differ with the individual cutting along with their style of cutting. If you would like a cake cutting guide, we will provide one free of charge at your request. The provided guide is the same guide that will be used in determining your servings when placing your order.
NON-EDIBLE DECORATIONS AND ALLERGY INFORMATION
You acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants.
You acknowledge that any decoration that is noted as non-edible should be removed before cutting and distributing the cake.
Our products may contain or come in contact with milk, wheat, gluten, nuts, soy, and other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless for allergic reactions.
PHOTO RELEASE
On occasion, we will photograph our cakes and we reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.
